Journey Kaleidoscope

Inspired and thankful to attend such a beautiful Artist reception on February 8, 2025, for the exhibition exploring themes of IMMIGRATION: JOYS AND HARDSHIPS, at the Gallery of the Roslindale Library. 25 artists and 3 poets shared their creations, perspectives, and touching stories. My painting “Journey Kaleidoscope” was exhibited in this juried show from Thursday, January 30th through Saturday, March 15th.

The painting “Journey Kaleidoscope” attempts to capture the momentum and movement of the timeframe that a person has been through, when immigrating to a new country. There is a constant forward movement, a striving to get ahead, to make your mark and arrive somewhere. But it seems as if you are on a perpetual journey. With a twist of the kaleidoscope, different parts of your life around you, rearrange themselves, and then you have readjust yourself, to the new people, or situations, or turn of events, and then continue on the onward journey.

Purple Serenity

Excited to share that my painting “Purple Serenity” was shown at: MONOCHROME, A Members’ Exhibition in collaboration with the Fitchburg Art Museum at the ArtsWorcester Main Galleries, on view March 6 - April 13, 2025.

“Purple Serenity” - This abstract piece features a striking yet serene purplish background, creating a sense of depth and mystery. Running through the center is a single, bold brushstroke, bright and contrasting, in vivid yellow, blue and green. The brushstroke slices the composition, drawing the viewer’s eye toward the center, symbolizing energy, movement, and the intersection of calm and chaos. The contrast between the layered purple backdrop and the intense, sweeping line conveys both serenity and power. It speaks to how we should strive to make our mark despite the circumstance around us.

About Monochrome: Color is an essential element of visual art and communicates emotions, attracts attention, and references culture. Artist members were asked to delve deeply into the dominant color of their choice, and respond to one (or more) of ten artworks on loan from the Fitchburg Art Museum. This year’s loan features artworks that each utilize a limited color palette, or are dominated by a single color.

Radiant Emergence

Excited to share that my digital art “Radiant Emergence” was showing at: /ORIGIN, A Juried Exhibition. Everything starts somewhere. From childhood and lineage, to old stories and ancient myths, everything hails from an original point: a time in which the things we know began, and a time in which we ourselves began.

ArtsWorcester at the Davis Art Gallery
Exhibition runs May 8 - June 29, 2025

“Radiant Emergence” - This conceptual digital painting combines the Ashoka Chakra, a symbol from the Indian flag, with my watercolor rendition of the sunflower. The Ashoka Chakra represents the eternal wheel of law and righteousness, while the sunflower embodies life, energy, and growth. By merging these two powerful symbols, the artwork explores themes of origins, birth, history, and the emergence of new ideas, celebrating both the continuity of time and the promise of new beginnings.

I chose to show my painting “Maang - The Ask” at /THE THIRTEENTH ANNUAL ONE - A Members’ Exhibition at the ArtsWorcester Main Galleries. Exhibition run: July 24 - August 24 and Reception: Friday, July 25, 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

All artist members were invited to bring us the single piece they wanted to exhibit most, regardless of medium or theme, for the Thirteenth Annual One. I chose to show my painting “Maang - The Ask”.

“Maang - The Ask” is a conceptual painting that explores the dual meanings of its title. In a cultural context, Maang refers to the ritual of applying sindoor (vermilion powder) to the partition of a bride’s hair during a wedding ceremony, symbolizing marriage and tradition.

On a deeper level, Maang also means “to ask.” “The Ask” represents a woman’s freedom to embrace her true self—radiant and unbound—basking in the limitless skies without constraints. It is the call for her to pursue her dreams, passions, and ambitions with courage and confidence, allowing her soul to soar like a butterfly.

Wearable Art

Two M’s Design Wearable Art at ShopVida

I created a line of wearable art with VIDA - a sustainable, socially-conscious company during the quarantine days.

My work is inspired by my surroundings, moments in life, places I visit, experiences, emotions, people around me, the constantly unfolding mystery of nature, and the abundance of colors all around me. I find beauty in the smallest objects, simplest gestures, natural intrinsic qualities in people and things. It is the essence of these abstractions that I try to capture and portray in my design work.
